RANDOM ACTS OF CREATIVITY

DO SOMETHING FUNNY

The crushing disappointment of not getting a client to buy a script isn’t enough for me. I need more direct and personal humiliation. That’s why I’m often trudging around to the worst clubs in London and subjecting strangers to my stand-up set. It’s ever-changing, but I’m currently exploring the possibility that I might actually be evil.

I also (nerd-alert) love improv. After several years of being properly trained in the art of silliness at the Free Association, I now perform with my leafy keen team Foliage, most recently at the Vault Festival.

I also recently worked with a group to develop a new show for the Free Association called Absurdocles- the world’s first* improvised Greek Tragedy where my God-complex has finally come in handy.

*Pretty sure it’s a world’s first. Don’t sue us. We can’t afford lawyers.

SHE TAKES OVER

For international women’s day, I wanted to do something that truly helps women; not another token gesture or short-lived stunt, but something with real impact. So the amazing team at adam&eveddb and I created She Takes Over.

The idea is simple. We offered to use our agency social channels to promote the work of women composers, filmmakers and photographers, and we called out to other agencies to do the same.

28 different organisations donated their social feeds to raise the profiles of 150 incredibly talented women. We even had media space generously donated by ClearChannel and the British Arrows, letting us extend the campaign to press and out of home.

Now in its third year, She Takes Over has expanded to include a regular speaker series through BiteLive, a talent database and loads more in store for 2022.

THE BEST FILMS OF ALL TIME

A few years back I started a film club with the mission to watch the top 20 films on Sight & Sound magazine's list. I blogged about it.

THE ALLEY

My flat in Toronto overlooked an alley where loads of crazy stuff happened. So much stuff that some friends and I made a documentary about it. Check it out here.
